A-level results 2020
The Class of 2020 have been awarded our strongest grades ever.
- 73% of grades were A*s, and 95% were A or better
- All students have secured one of their preferred choices, with 24% progressing to Oxbridge and all applicants progressing to a highly competitive university*
Initially, 15% of the school's Centre Assessed Grades were downgraded by one grade. The school did not feel that the algorithm handled our students justly: the year-on-year increase in high grades that we were predicting was very much in line with this cohort's higher baseline attainment. We are therefore pleased that the Teacher Assessed Grades have now been awarded.
Subject by subject outcomes can be seen below:
A* | A*-A | A*-B | |
Mathematics | 94% | 100% | 100% |
Further Mathematics | 83% | 91% | 100% |
Physics | 44% | 93% | 100% |
18 students completed an EPQ, with 12 A*s and 6 As awarded.
AS results from year 12 were also very strong, with 86% As in Economics and 92% As in Computer Science, with 100% of grades B or better.
We are incredibly proud of this cohort, their enthusiasm and tenacity through lockdown in particular. Well done, class of 2020!
