In your own words, what is King’s Maths School?

King’s Maths School is a place for people who feel passionate and are inspired during their maths lessons, and can convene with other like-minded individuals.

As a new student, what at King’s Maths School are you looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to Physics. I thought GCSE Physics was too easy and a little boring, so I thought A Level Physics taught at a specialist maths school would be a lot more interesting and engaging.

What are the teachers like?

Our teachers have an in-depth knowledge of the subjects that are teaching, and everything you learn is beyond what you need to know.

What subject do you want to study at university?

Engineering, or some field within physics. King’s Maths School will help me get there because they offer EPQ. This means I can research the subject in-depth, which will help my university written applications and interviews. I also feel the knowledge the teachers give me during my subject learning will be useful for the field I want to study. King’s Maths School creates an atmosphere where I want to pursue my aspirations, and that is an important environment to provide.

What career do you want to go into?

I’ve been thinking of doing a career in engineering or robotics, or maybe becoming a research physicist. Some of the teachers who teach physics here are also involved in physics research, and we have a few PhD mentors from King’s College London helping us as well. It all helps me feel like I can make it to their level, and with their guidance, along with the right school environment, I will be at that level.
