Sandy Rattray
Co-opted Governor
Sandy Rattray recently retired as the Chief Investment Officer of the quantitative hedge fund, Man Group plc. He worked with mathematical algorithms, very large data sets and machine learning techniques there. He has authored many academic papers on risk and quantitative techinques in finance journals and maintained a close relationship with Oxford University through the Oxford-Man Institute, which focuses on applying machine learning techniques to financial markets.
He is a governor of the Southbank Centre in London and a director of MSCI Inc, the US data and analytics company. He has a keen interest in architecture and playing the piano. Sandy has a double first from Jesus College Cambridge in Natural Sciences and Economics.
